Why do a Family session?
Families are continuously changing. Whether it’s a new beginning, an addition to the family, or the simple passing of time, as each moment passes we grow and change. We come up with new favorite routines, change houses, notice new ways in which our children amaze us. And everyday, it’s something different. The moments come and go, and if you aren’t being intentional, it’s hard to remember those little everyday moments that make up the bulk of their lives. Kids grow so quickly and the new things they’re doing can be old news by the end of the month. Photographs preserve that. They take you back and help you relive and feel what that time was like again. Both the exciting and the mundane- because every moment of your life is important.
What does a family session look like?
It looks like me, Sarah, coming into your home for a couple hours, and taking photos of whatever it is you do as a family. We’ll chat beforehand and I’ll help you with ideas if you need it, but for the most part I ask families to think about the daily routines that are part of your everyday life, and we’ll schedule my time around them. You’re trusting me to capture your whole family, just being yourselves together. That includes photographs of YOU with them, because how often is it that your children get to see you in those everyday photos?
