Farmer's market in May- Madison, WI

Lovely Ember purple flowers

It's finally market season. I mean, it has been for nearly a month at the Dane County farmer's market on the square, but it finally feels like market season again. Last weekend there were ramps, asparagus, mushrooms, rhubarb, all sorts of potted herbs and beautiful flowers. There were even a few vendors selling tomatoes! (they must have some gigantic hoop houses) I love going to market, even when we don't particularly need anything. We're quite lucky to live in a city with such a thriving agriculture community; there are markets throughout the week in different locations within Madison, so it's quite easy to get beautiful, fresh produce, meats, and cheese throughout almost the entire year. I'm always looking forward to seeing what new things are coming into season on my next market visit. Happy weekend friends, I hope you get a chance to enjoy some treats from your market as well!
