Eat for Equity's mission is to "build a culture of generosity through sustainable community feasts." This means that they host dinners that include fresh fruits, veggies, cheese, and meats from local farms who generously donate their goods for the volunteers to prepare into an amazing feast. The money raise at each dinner is then donated to a local organization who is doing meaningful work in the community. All the people that work on making food and running the dinners are volunteers. The dinner location every month donates its space. It's quite an extraordinary thing to see so many people come together to put on a meal without any benefit to themselves. This last dinner I was able to photograph at Crossroads Community Farm raised money for the Fairshare CSA Coalition. They work to make local CSA's (community supported agriculture) accessible to everyone, in order that "all families have access to locally produced, organic food and have strong connections to their farms, food and community." Pretty awesome stuff, in my opinion. Thank you E4E, for letting me be a part of such a beautiful, tasty evening.
